Just got back from 3 days down at Carmel-by-the-Sea for Davey's birthday, a gorgeous little town about 3hrs south. We rented a house in the forest and rose early each morning (not quite by choice!) to fossick on the white sandy beaches. The weather was gloriously warm and we fired up the webber out on the deck. The boys played baseball on the beach and I have never seen such a canine friendly town - Teak was welcome everywhere!
