Pet Lizards

On Jason 'Indianna Jones' Veitch's recent visit, he returned home from McNear's beach triumphantly bestowing a new pet upon the boys - a blue bellied lizard Jack named 'JoJo' - acquiring instant hero status. To add to the collection, yesterday on the golf course Sam 'Steve Irwin' Lundberg made an acquaintance with a mini version - crawling onto his arm and begging to come home! The second addition appropriately called 'Golfy'.

Veggie Garden Update

Corn (now 7ft), carrots (stumpy but oh so tasty), cucumbers (sweet), coriander (or 'cilantro' from the Spanish)! Sammy helped harvest our first major crop - the tomatoes still need a little ripening, apparently come August. We made a fabulous salad with the bountiful cucumbers: capers, anchovies, olive oil, salt and sliced cucumber... yum!! A wonderful sense of satisfaction, not only from growing our own vegetables, and the kids seeing them thrive with care, but this is our first success in the garden! Can't wait for Grandie to see our produce.

July 4th

A huge day - kicked off with pancake breakfast in Larkspur served by the local Girl Guides and Scouts along with Gin Fizzes!! The McDermott Family guided us down Magnolia Ave to the annual Independence Day Parade - complete with Bloody Marys!!! After the parade we headed over to the Maier's for their annual shindig. Swimming, backyard golf, dogs, BBQing and more drinking - oye!! Time for a detox...
