Signing Off

Well... it looks like all good things find their own finish line...
and here it lies for The Lundberg Family blog. After 18mths, we are
still having a fabulous experience here, and it now feels very much
part of our daily lives so we're signing off... but never fear, ideas
are waiting in the virtual wings to take flight and will keep you all
informed on what is hot and happening here in the 'other' city by the
bay, San Francisco... stay tuned and thanks for logging on!

Boys

The boys tried on their outfits for Kelly Rattigan's wedding tonight... photo bit blurry, you know how it is... you're on the run, getting them to sit still, finding camera etc resort to iPhone! Despite all that, I think they look pretty smart!!

David's Birthday

Pizza dinner handmade by the kids for Davey's pentultimate birthday.
Kids set up their own photographic exhibition, followed by breakfast
on Chestnut, amble thru multiple SF galleries and lunch at Salt House
SOMA in the pouring rain. A Ma Vie De Coer Entier!!

Fairfax Lakes

Playday picnic and hour long hike around Lake Bon Tempe with Dani &
Gabe Hougard, Evan Jensen and the Lundbergs! Treasure tally: 6 newts,
2 banana slugs and one secret tree house. Mushroom and barley soup,
chicken wraps, blue cheese and crackers and homemade brownies.
Glorious day after the rains.

SuperBowl action! Aussies hosting the biggest sporting event on the American calendar... go figure! Lots of beer, hot dogs and Obama's special chili with cornbread and delicious salads. Go Aussie Go!

Birks in SF

Tania, Dan, Harriet and Hugo Birks arrived in SF en route from 3 weeks in Mexico. The weather was unseasonally glorious as we toured the sights of the city and surrounds: The Great American Walk around The Golden Gate Bridge; the hills of SF; coffee in Chestnut and Union Street; Running the grass of Crissy Fields; a cheese and olive picnic at Chateau StJean in Sonoma; shopping up a storm at the mall, Larkspur and Mill Valley; hiking in Tiburon; stalking deer at Rodeo Beach; soaking up the sunshine in Sausalito; clam chowder at Fisherman's Wharf; and a delicious Seafood Bouillabaise in the new LeCreuset. But, for me, there was nothing better than a glass of red with a good friend after the kids were bedded down each evening!

1yr Anniversary

We've been in the US now for 1yr... and we're still loving it. The kids sound like 'Young Americans' as we try desperately to hold onto their Aussie twang. Oh, the things we've seen and the places we've been... and there's more to come I am sure! We've made some great friends, thank goodness for email and skype as our friends and family back home don't feel so far away. Easter in Melbourne & Margaret River; Summer in Cape Cod; and perhaps a few small trips along the way... stay tuned for an action packed 2009!
