Took a hike through Muir Woods today - no school so no crowds. The towering redwoods made the trails dark and intriguing for the boys as they ran through the woods finding ladybirds and hollow tree trunks. Declared the 10th 'National Monument' by Pres. Teddy Roosevelt, Muir Woods is an exceptional old-growth redwood forest about 15mins drive from our house. It incorporates a famous trail that traverses mountain ridge to Stinson Beach and along to Muir Beach which we would love to do one day. We did an hour hike and the boys breezed through - maybe a longer one next time. Thanks to Georgie & Hans for the gift of the annual pass - finally got a car park guys!
