Grandie

We just bade farewell last week to Grandie who came to visit for 3 lovely weeks. I will never forget the excitement on the boys' faces as they waited for her to walk through the gates at SFO. As you will have seen from the previous posts, we accomplished so much in such a short time: Shopping on Chestnut/Corte Madera/Mill Valley etc etc; poolside lunches with the Coote's in Atherton; picnics by the lake and tadpoling in Fairfax; cocktails at Piccos in Larkspur; Crabs at Fisherman's Wharf; the elusive Ghiradelli Square; swimming at McNears; the treasures of Shell Beach, Inverness and Miwok camps at Point Reyes Station; cruising the Silverado Trail in the Napa and sipping champagne in the sunshine; lunch amongst the yachts at Le Garage, Sausalito; breakfast in the city at Cafe de la Press; and finally making it to the Farmers' Market at the Ferry Building! It was wonderful to share it all with Grandie and, as it was written: "...I cry, not because I am sad, but because the world is so beautiful and life is so short".
