"Wizard of Oz" Mountain Play at the top of Mt Tam. Very hot, lovely picnic, great views. Sammy loved the whole thing and Jack spent the entire time trying to differentiate between fantasy and reality... "The Tin Man's not real; his axe head is real but the handle is just painted silver, the Scarecrow isn't really made of straw" etc etc! Apparently it really was the Wicked Witch from the West flying the biplane overhead trailing the "Surrender Dorothy" banner. We ditched the hike and got a friend to drive us there and back... in style!
